World of My Heaven
Eighteen years ago, I was at my deli, sitting outside, enjoying the sunset, and feeling the breeze. Then, I suddenly got inspired and started doodling. While doodling, I saw my whole life flashback in a split second. I saw the different paths I took in my life and translated them into art. The energy was so strong that I couldn’t explain it.
Telling the story of my life through making art was mind-blowing. I felt like I was in a manic stage at that moment.
Everything that I visualized came to life. I had it framed and hung in the deli and called it “World of My Heaven.”
Many people saw it as a masterpiece, and one doctor even approached me and offered to buy it for $10,000, but I said no. However, it was very sentimental as I see it as my daughter, Gioia’s, wedding dress someday.
Connecting With People
When we were living in our apartment in Irvine, we would go to the coffee shop downstairs every morning and have a cappuccino. Then, one morning, I felt this powerful and incredible energy as I walked into this coffee shop we frequent. It was something I had never felt before. I saw this man, tapped him on his shoulder, and told him I felt he had a wonderful family.
Then, his wife and three kids walked in. I suddenly felt this emerald light all over my body tingling, and I felt goosebumps as I saw them walk in. I felt like I had met them in another life, and from then on, we connected and became the best of friends in just a few days.
Sharing the World of My Heaven
I was preparing my paintings with me to display them at a museum when all of a sudden, I looked at Alfredo, my husband, and told him that I had found the perfect place where my baby, World of My Heaven, should go. I felt I needed to give it to this beautiful family I had just met.
I have never felt so good giving the painting to the family. I knew then that the painting would be going to a beautiful place. In return, I asked Yousef to send me a photo when they displayed it at their home in Kuwait. A few weeks later, I received a picture of it at their home, and I felt the presence of His being throughout their whole house.
I knew that my “World of My Heaven” was in a good place and with a beautiful family.
Looking back at these stories reminds me of why I create and why I love art. I hope this story inspires you to keep creating and continue enjoying this life like a work of art.
