Lily Petals Art by Donna Cali
Our power went off at the restaurant at 4 in the afternoon. We had several customers waiting for food but couldn’t serve them meals yet, so Alfredo offered them appetizers while waiting. I went outside, and I met this beautiful family. I saw a young lady with the most beautiful eyes. I told her how warming and welcoming her God-given eyes were.
Making Connections
When I came home to rest and take a shower, the young lady and her family came into my mind again. I had the urge to see them again and hang out with them. And so we did, and we ended up staying until 1:30 in the morning, laughing, drinking, and exchanging amazing stories.
The Painting
When she entered the restaurant, she looked at me and told me how amazing my artworks were. She pointed to one of my artworks, Lily Petals, and said to me that it reminded her of her childhood. Then, she asked me about what I felt during the moment I was making the artwork, and I told her that I saw it as my aura, my white light, and everything else was just emerald greens. After hearing it, she said she had the same feeling, and we both felt connected. It was the most beautiful part of our evening.
She was worth more than anything I could give her, so I gave her the painting. It was the least I could do to show how much I valued her presence. She graciously accepted it and thanked me. I said thank you for being who she is and for the love that she shares with her family. She didn’t want to accept it at first, but I insisted and asked only one thing in exchange, to see a photo of it hanging in their home.
And she sent me this. What a beautiful family indeed.
